Ryan Callaghan (Chairman of the Board)
Ryan Callaghan is an executive at Shoutpoint Communications, a telecommunications software provider based in Newport Beach, CA. Prior to joining Shoutpoint Ryan spent 13 years in corporate finance with private equity firms TGV Partners and The Carlyle Group and the investment banking firm Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ). Ryan graduated from UCLA's college of honors with a degree in Business Economics and Accounting. In 2004, Ryan took a break from his career in finance to join the staff at Every Generation Ministries as Director of Operations and Development. For three and a half years, Ryan worked with Daniel Watts and the EGM team to wisely steward the rapidly growing group of donors, staff and international ministries God entrusted to EGM. Today Ryan still serves as a member of EGM's Board of Directors.
Ryan lives in Newport Beach with his wife Kelly (who was baptized by Daniel Watts as a little girl in his Mariners Church Children's Ministry) and their four children. They active members of RockHarbor church in Costa Mesa, CA.
Tom Wilson (Vice Chairman)
Tom and his wife Nancy currently live in Irvine, California. Tom studied at the University of Southern California and the University of San Diego and received his law degree in 1976. He is a Litigation Partner with the law firm of Pivo, Halbreich, Martin, Wilson & Amo LLP located in Irvine, California. Prior to that, he was one of the founding shareholders, President and Chief Financial Officer of the firm of Martin & Wilson, which merged with Mr. Wilson's present firm on December 1, 2000. Tom is actively involved at Voyagers Bible Church where he serves as an elder. He is also an adjunct professor at Biola University School of Business. Tom has served on the EGM Board of Directors since 1993 when the ministry was founded. He has traveled with EGM to Poland, Belarus and Hungary. He follows closely the ministry in Poland where he has been involved since it’s inception.
Kristi Kirkpatrick (Secretary)
Kristi Kirkpatrick currently resides in Corona del Mar, California. Over the last five years she has been involved in various aspects of the real estate industry with residential, investor and distressed homeowner clients. Kristi attends Mariners Church and is passionate about serving others. She is Co-Founder and Board Member Secretary of Resplendent Hope, a non-profit organization that partners with indigenous leaders and churches abroad in order to transform the physical, spiritual and emotional lives of widows, orphans and society’s victims.
Kevin Pike (Director)
Kevin currently serves as Lead Pastor of Ridgepoint Church in Holland, Michigan. He graduated from the University of California – Irvine and completed his Masters of Divinity studies at Regent College in British Columbia. He served from 1980 to 1991 as an Associate Pastor at Mariners Church in Newport Beach, California. From 1991 to 1996 Kevin served at Summit View Community Church in Seattle Washington. He became the Senior Pastor at Eastlake Community Church in Columbia, South Carolina where he served until 2010. In 2010, Kevin returned to Mariners and in January of 2013, Kevin accepted the role of Lead Pastor at Ridgepoint Church. Kevin and Julie have been involved with EGM from the beginning with Kevin joining the board in 1996. He has traveled with EGM to Chile leading a team from his church. Kevin and Julie reside in Irvine, California and are the parents of four wonderful children.
Dana Joanou (Treasurer)
Dana and his wife Heidi, currently live in Irvine, California with their three college age children. Dana received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from San Diego State University in 1981. He is a Partner in the Certified Public Accounting firm of Kushner, Smith, Joanou, & Gregson, LLP in Irvine, California. Dana is actively involved at Voyagers Bible Church where he was a past member of the Administrative Committee and currently serves as a member of the Agape Committee. Dana has served on the EGM Administrative Committee since 2001.
Julie Walker (Director)
Julie is a California native who currently splits time with her family between Southern California and Wyoming. She has been married to her husband, Darrick, for 16 years and has two children, Abby and William. Julie’s professional background includes time spent working in public relations and finance. Since the birth of her first child, Julie has had the privilege of being a stay at home mom. This experience has given her insight into how God works and speaks mightily into the lives of children and has also fueled her desire to work to make sure that all children get to hear and experience the good news of Christ’s love for them.
Julie first experienced the joy of reaching children for Christ as a children’s ministry intern working for Daniel Watts at Mariners church over 25 years ago. She has a heart for EGM and embraces EGM’s vision to ministry to children and children’s workers around the world. Julie began service on the EGM Board in 2010.
Rick Fortier (Director)
Rick was born in Chile and moved the US in 1971 and has resided in Newport Beach since the late seventies. After receiving a business and a law degree, Rick commenced his professional career working for Oasis Petroleum as an oil trader. In 1987, he founded Bravo Energy Trading N.A. in Long Beach California. Over the next 25 years, the company expanded to Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
Rick is married to Gaile and together they have 4 boys: Ross, Chance, Carter and Will. The family has been involved with EGM since its beginning. During this time, Rick has traveled with EGM on several occasions to Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Peru where he has participated in teacher training conferences. Rick served on the founding board of EGM-Chile and was involved with the translation of EGM teaching materials into Spanish. His wife and children have also traveled with EGM to Latin America. In addition to EGM, Rick has served on several boards for Christian organizations as well as church committees mostly dealing with global outreach and missions.
Andrew Del Rey (Director)
Andrew is a mortgage Banker with Sierra Pacific Mortgage (Irvine, CA) specializing in residential Real Estate lending. Born and raised in Southern California, Andrew is the 5th of 7 children. He likes to refer to the family as the “Mexican Brady Bunch” even though all the kids in the family come from the same set of parents.
Previous Professional Experiences:
Andrew has worked and lived in Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, The Middle East and Canada, selling hardware, software and services to Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Lines and Golf Industries. Andrew speaks French and knows enough words and phrases in several different languages to make someone smile or blush. He is married 19 years to his wife Lisa and currently lives in Irvine with their 13 year old son Christian. They have pet fish named Chad Ochocinco and Jorge and a dog named Daisy. Andrew and Lisa are one of the Founding Families of Rock Harbor Church in Costa Mesa, CA. His favorite hobby is playing hockey and has managed to only break his foot, arm, tooth and rib and has had only two sports related surgeries. His other hobbies are table napkin and bathroom towel origami; and anything related to being with his family. Andrew is also passionate about serving others and enjoys his ministry involvement as a board member of EGM, Community Pastor at Rock Harbor Church, Lead Team for Mentorship at Rock Harbor Church, and Light House Ministry to the Homeless in Costa Mesa.
Andrew’s burning desire is to directly or indirectly point people to God and significantly and positively impact their lives in any way possible in any aspect of their lives.
Something few people know about Andrew is that he played the drums in a “top 40” band called “The Suspects” in the 80’s. He also had a lead role in a couple of nationally televised commercials during prime time for a restaurant chain. Several months later the chain went under…coincidence??? You be the judge!!!
His “key to success”: Take care of those you are with and the business will take care of itself!
Eren Diaz (Director)
Eren is a California native currently living in Corona del Mar. She has been married to her husband Raniel for 11 years. Together they have a daughter Quinley Joy otherwise known to EGM as "The Q." She worked for Mariners Church, Irvine from 1997 - 2005 as both Junior High and High School Director. Upon leaving youth ministry; Eren started a consulting business specializing in event planning and marketing for non-profits. In 2010 she decided to follow her design interests and created the BridalShoppe hand making bridal accessories, which she owns and operates with her sister.
She has been involved with EGM since 2006 working on the Spring Swing planning committee. Currently, Eren and her family attend Rock Harbor church in Costa Mesa where they serve as Life Group leaders, Marriage Mentors and in the prayer ministries.
Jim Fisher (Director)
Raised in Western Michigan, Jim and his wife Marcia live in Upland, California (34 years). They have three children (one already in heaven) and five grandchildren. Jim served as a captain in the US Air Force (’66-’70). He holds a BA from Calvin College ’66, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) ’75, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) ’84 and Masters Certificates in Advanced Estate Planning and Financial Counseling, all from the American College. He is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) practicing in the Estate Planning and Wealth Management arena since 1970. He is a principal in Trinity Financial Partners, Trinity Capital Management, and several real estate entities involving development, lending, and rental operations. Jim has been a facilitator and counselor in the Larry Burkett/Christian Financial Concepts, now Crown Ministries program, since the early 1980’s. Jim has served as deacon and elder in prior churches and currently serves in couples and mens ministries at Calvary Chapel Chino Valley. His introduction to EGM was with Daniel and Marla in Budapest and traveled with them in Romania during the first year in ministry there. The Lord has led Jim and Marcia to have a heart for children’s ministry, and for Jim to serve on EGM’s board.
