Egypt
Over 2,000 years ago God called His son out of Egypt to make Him a blessing to the nations.  Today, God is calling children of Egypt to be a blessing to their naiton and the nations of the Middle East.

Every Generation Ministries established a national ministry in Egypt in 2002 to see Egyptian children transformed in Christ through His Church.  EGM-Egypt is accomplishing this in two ways.  First through training.  EGM-Egypt is working throughout the country to equip teachers in both the metropolitan areas as well as the rural areas how to teach according to the Model Children's Worker found in Deuteronomy 6.  These teachers are desperate for resources that will aid them in this goal.  EGM-Egypt is currently developing a nine year curriculum project that will be completely culturally relevant, biblically based, and life transformational.

The children of Egypt are in desperate need of hope.  They live within a climate that is overwhelmingly anti-Christian.  They battle everyday to find joy in their life.  Jesus Christ can offer them that hope and joy.  Here is a story of a staff member who had the opportunity to be a part of this ministry:

“I was excited to train children’s workers at a church in the Shobra region in Cairo – the first children’s ministry training of its kind. Sunday school teachers from throughout the region were present. In the church I noticed a beautiful sculptured cross on the wall and I commented on it to the pastor.  When he told me the story of the adjacent smoke stains on the wall, it changed my view of our ministry in Egypt completely.

He explained, ‘While I was recently away with my family, radical Muslim extremists bombed our church.  The fire started about where you are standing.  This is what it is to live in Egypt as a Christian. Thankfully, no lives were lost and the fire was caught soon enough to be put out before much damage was done.  However, it was a good reminder of the importance of what we are doing here.  Someday soon, we hope to repaint the walls and put this bad situation behind us, but until then, the stains on the walls keep reminding us.’

It’s difficult to describe the feeling in my heart at that moment. I understood in a greater way the environment of hatred and evil that the children of Egypt live with EVERY DAY!  How important it is to give them the tools they need from God’s Word to face these everyday challenges.  What a privilege to share with the children’s workers in the shadow of those smoke-stained walls how they could effectively and creatively present the message of salvation and life in Christ Jesus.”

The Children of Egypt are waiting for the hope that only Christ can give.  They need people to tell them about this hope that only Christ can offer.  Will you help them hear?
