Mexico
Pastors throughout Mexico are crying out for help.  Their children are facing a cycle of poverty and oppression.  This lack of hope sends many teens and adults into addiction, fueling the drug and alcohol culture.  Pastors and church leaders want to stop this cycle, they know that it begins with reaching children.

With a population of about 107.5 million people, Mexico is the most heavily populated Spanish speaking country in the world.  Some 30 percent of the population consists of children under the age of 14.

Often children are not intrinsically valued in Mexico.  Many churches all over the world simply do not believe children are important.  One of EGM's main goals is to help churches realize the passion and heart God has for children so that they will also have a heart to see children's lives transformed.  One passionate leader told the story of how he was able to attend seminary.  While he was there, God spoke to his heart about ministering to children.  He completed his training, returned to his church, and asked how he could help start something for the children.  His pastor replied, "Why would you want to waste your time with children?  You've got seminary training, let's use it for something important."  These passionate leaders have an overwhelming desire for training and resources as well as to be encouraged by fellow believers who understand the significance of ministry to children.

As EGM has begun to establish a ministry in Mexico the demand for training and resources has at times been overwhelming.

Oaxaca Teacher Training
A training in Chihouhua that was designed for a handful of people had over one-hundred attend.  Throughout mexico, when EGM schedules any kind of meeting with pastors or children's ministry workers, we are consistently met with greater numbers than expected, and observe a sense of urgency in the pressing requests for teaching materials and teacher training.

Teachers throughout the country are eagerly awaiting the establishment of this ministry.  EGM is currently searching for board members in order to officially launch the ministry.  In the meantime several partners throughout the country have begun to train and develop training teams.  In Ensenada one team is already beginning to travel throughout their region to train and equip teachers.  To read about how this training affected one of the teachers, click here
