Teachers Tool Kits

Can You Help My Teacher with supplies?

Over the years, EGM has had the great privilege and honor of working with children’s workers in churches around the world. They share with us a great love for Jesus Christ and a real passion for seeing boys and girls become His disciples. We met one of those ladies in Chile.

We were in the city of Antofagasta, meeting with children’s workers. We asked them about their ministry challenges. They began to share about issues such as divorce, internet pornography, violent computer games and television programs, materialism and other social pressures. They also noted the lack of good life application Bible teaching materials for children. Some of them said they did not even have papers and pencils for children. Finally, one noted that they did not even have a place to meet. They met with children in the dirt lot across from the church when the weather was acceptable. Finally, one teacher stood and said they needed to stop complaining in front of guests. She stated boldly, that you are only required to have two resources for great children’s ministry; love for Christ and love for children.

Our reaction these types of meetings is to give her everything we have of any value. While it is true that we only need a love for Christ and love for children—paper, crayons and pencils are pretty helpful. Latin America is not the only place in need. Those kinds of experiences have been repeated in our ministry in Upper Egypt, villages in Eastern Europe and gypsy Sunday schools in Romania. This need caused us to launch the “Teacher Tool Kit” project.  It is a simple way for you, your children and the children in your church community to offer a small tangible show of support for children’s workers overseas.

The “Teacher Tool Kit” project amounts to gathering together a few simple items that will help a children’s worker in a church overseas. You would be amazed what a blessing a few crayons, pencils and scissors could be. Please read the attached brochure and simply follow the steps in preparing a kit to share with a teacher in need. This is a perfect project for a Sunday school class, VBS, home Bible study or your family.

In 2010, we worked with over 11, 300 precious children’s workers in ten countries. Our goal is to send each and every one of them this encouraging little resource pack as they labor to see boys and girls know Christ and live their lives with Him.
