Establish National Ministries

The best people to equip churches for great children’s ministry and develop Model Children’s Workers are national Christian leaders within the culture. They speak the language, know the society and can relate best to their own children. God has called them to minister to children and EGM comes alongside.

In every country where EGM serves we want to help in the areas of board development, staff development and national fund development.

Board Development

Every EGM partner ministry is led by a national board of directors. A representative of EGM holds one seat on the board of each national ministry but the leadership of the work is completely the responsibility of this national board. An annual budget and strategic plan is developed and regular self-evaluations are performed. Financial accountability standards are strictly adhered to and integrity is a hallmark of every EGM partner ministry. Our goal is that each partner ministry board be a diverse group of mature Christian leaders that includes business people and ministry people, men and women, church leaders and lay people, seasoned leaders and young leaders. We also are committed to helping these boards be effective in their leadership role. Every board member enjoys the privilege of experiencing an orientation and training program which equips them for effective ministry in their role and ongoing board development events are a part of every partner board’s experience.

Staff Leadership

EGM’s representative in each country maintains regular contact with the director and staff in our various partner ministries. In this ongoing relationship, they are able to offer guidance and counsel to the staff and remind them that they are a part of a loving and supportive international EGM family. Every new partner ministry staff member appreciates the opportunity to receive leadership training and orientation as they begin their ministry service.

National Funding

EGM’s national ministry value cannot be fully realized until the believers in any of our partner countries see the need to financially support the work of EGM in their own country. EGM makes an annual financial commitment to each partner country to help them get started in the work God has called them to do, but the goal is to help them find the funding in their own country to continue the work over the long term. Each EGM partner ministry commits to work toward financial self-sustainability and includes a fund development plan as part of their annual budget and strategic plan. This is a very real challenge for many of our partners as the biblical notion of giving has not always been generally accepted and practiced in every culture. However, the challenge to live biblically is one that EGM is happy to accept and our commitment toward national ministry funding is unwavering.
