EGM'S Ministry
Leadership Development
EGM-Peru’s Leadership Development strategy begins in Lima with three annual conferences in each corner of the city, and expands to the Peruvian provinces one-by-one. This year we will begin ministry in the province of Chiclayo.

Meet Our New Director
Rosario de Romero (Charo) - Rosario was called to serve as the Director of EGM-Peru in December 2011. Charo has grown up in the church. She is an elementary School teacher by profession and has served for 10 years as a children’s ministry director in two different churches. She is a native to Lima, Perú and serves as a volunteer trainer for EGM-Perú. Her leadership experience and personal hands children’s ministry expertise make Charo will be a crucial resource to Charo in leading the ministry. Charo has worked with the EGM-Peru team writing lessons and implementing the model children’s ministry philosophy in her own children’s program. Chaor has prepared her for the job to revise and edit the Spanish curriculum and prepare it for the EGM Spanish website. Please join us in welcoming Charo to our ministry team

"We would like to welcome you to the countries of Latin Ameica. It is a land rich in resources. The most abunant resource is the people. God has a heart for this region of the world and we feel called to serve all the churches in this area and to see every child hear, respond and be transformed by Jesus Christ ."
Peru remains one of the most economically challenged countries in Latin America. Lima has a large population of street children. Churches in the rural areas remain sorely under resourced.
In response to the requests of church leaders, EGM deployed John and Heather Chapman to help launch a Peruvian ministry. Living in Lima, the Chapman’s have developed a dynamic and gifted leadership team that has launched a Peruvian ministry. A crucial new element of ministry development is the full funding of the ministry by Peruvian sources from its beginning.
Strategic Plan Progress

Ministry Team
John just returned from Chile working to advance the ministry there. In Peru, ministry is moving forward as the Board of Directors of EGM-Peru (with Heather) is working hard to host the largest event ever organized by any EGM ministry. The Interdenominational Children Ministry Congress will host 1,000 children’s workers and Christian leaders to hear from Founder and President Daniel Watts in a ministry launch on August 4-6, 2011.
Teaching Materials
EGM-Peru has completed editing and revising EGM’s teaching materials for language and cultural content and is using them in all trainings of EGM’s “Model Children’s Worker.”
Fund Raising Efforts
This fiscal year is coming up short of in-country income because the major fund-raising event, the Congress, had to be rescheduled for the following fiscal year. Despite this setback, EGM-Peru is making headway in event-planning for this fund-raiser, scheduled for August 4-6.
Prayer Requests
Pray for wisdom and enablement for the our new director, Samuel Milliones.
Pray for more volunteers to join the ministry team, providing hands-on support and long-term contact with children’s workers in each region.
Please pray that word of this new ministry will gain support among the many denominational groups in Peru, and that our reputation will be strong from the beginning as a biblical ministry that will support and not threaten local church leadership.
