Katalin

A few weeks ago, as I sat at a national church planting conference, I was deeply moved when I realized that the lead choreographer worshiping on stage was Katalin—a girl who had once sat quietly in my Sunday school class. Watching her worship with confidence and joy, I couldn’t help but remember when we first met. She was sad, scared, and withdrawn, sitting with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, unable to speak or even accept a hug. Though she was intelligent, gifted, and a talented ballet dancer, she had no self-confidence and rarely heard words of affirmation. As her teacher, trained through EGM-Hungary, I intentionally poured patience, encouragement, and relationship-centered, experiential teaching into her life. Slowly, I watched her begin to open up and engage deeply with God’s Word. Later, at a children’s camp led by leaders also trained through EGM-Hungary, Katalin encountered God in a powerful way, repented, and gave her life to Jesus. From that point on, the change was undeniable. Today, she is a joyful, confident young woman—baptized, serving on the church worship team, and helping in preschool ministry. I am so grateful that God uses well-equipped, loving leaders to bring lasting transformation in a child’s life.
